Reiki- Reasons to Have a Treatment

Reiki- Reasons to Have a Treatment

Reiki can be defined as a non-physical healing energy made up of life force energy that is guided by the Higher Intelligence. It connects you to universal energy, thus allowing you access to healing for yourself whenever you might need it.

Reiki brings you closer to your Higher Self, which is an important part of anyone’s spirituality. You become more spontaneous, allowing you to make smarter decisions and giving an overall feeling of entirety.

It also lowers your stress. Reiki is an outstanding tool to keeping your heart and mind tranquil, and connecting to an inner peace that will be an advantage in bothersome times.

Finally, Reiki rejuvenates the body. Throughout the day, we put natural wear and tear on our bodies. Between that and the stress, our bodies need healing. Self-healing on a physical level can help prevent sickness, and aids our injuries in healing fully.

Meditate and Rejuvenate

Meditate and Rejuvenate

Just a few minutes, a few deep breathes and you will be feeling refreshed!

Try my technique:

meditation
• Find a quiet place where you can completely relax. Allow yourself to sit or lie in a comfortable position. Tell yourself you will awaken refreshed after 10minutes. (5 minutes will work!)
• Begin by focusing your eyes upward above your line of sight. Take in a long, slow, deep breath. As you slowly exhale think “relax, relax within”. Another deep breath in and on the exhale repeat to yourself “relax, relax within”. Repeat approximately six more times. Your eyes should start to become fatigued. Close them.
• You may repeat the phrase quietly to yourself “ I close my eyes and I revive”
• Imagine relaxation beginning in your toes. You may imagine it in the form of a color, such as a soothing aqua blue liquid. Allow that relaxation to spread upwards into your feet and ankles. Allow that feeling of relaxing to spread upward into your shins and calves, knees and hollow of your knees, your thighs and back of your thighs. Allow that relaxation, that soothing liquid to flow up into your abdomen, your chest, heart and lungs. Continue this process throughout your entire body.
• Next, imagine yourself in a special place of relaxation. We’ll call it “your place.” It might be lying on a beach on a warm summer day, or relaxing in the country by a peaceful river or stream. You might prefer being in your backyard or garden or even in your home.
• Count yourself up with 1-10 giving suggestions for well being, energy, happiness.

5 Reasons You Should Be Doing Pilates

5 Reasons You Should Be Doing PilatesPilates

Pilates is a system of exercises that is designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture, and improve your mental awareness. Here are 5 reasons why you should start doing Pilates today.

1)      Improved Flexibility- The constant bending and twisting throughout the day can cause a lot of stress on your muscles and joints. However, Pilates can correct this tension, allowing you to do the things you love. A flexible muscles is a healthy muscle, and a healthy muscle can handle stressors that may lead to injury.

2)      Better Sleep- A stress hormone called cortisol is released following a stressful event; it is important that cortisol levels return to normal after. Unfortunately, in our high-stress society, the stress response is activated so often that the body does not always have a chance to return to normal. Exercise “eases” these hormones, allowing you to be more focused throughout the day, and tired at night. Pilates is great, because it doesn’t wear out your muscles, so there is no soreness later on.

3)      Weight LossIf you practice Pilates regularly, you will change your body. Pilates creates long, lean muscles. It may be low-impact, but it isn’t easy. Once you have the routine down, expect to work up a light sweat. The formula for weight loss however remains the same: burn more calories than you consume. And Pilates (being a full body workout) will do exactly that.

4)      Lengthens the Spine and Improves Posture- Poor posture creates a string of structural changes throughout the body that can cause pain and imbalance in the shoulders and neck. This may cause migraines, neck, and lower back pain. Pilates targets the deep postural muscles creating a strong, aligned core.

5)      Mind and Body Connection- Pilates practice gives complete attention to every movement by instructing the brain to release tension, control movement and breath with precision and flow.
